Two kinds of hardwood

Most are familiar with solid, but there’s another one that’s taking a major share of the wood floor industry: engineered hardwood flooring.

It appeals to those who want timeless beauty, but who also have a practical bent.

The construction of this is the only different thing, and it gives the product more stability and an ability to better handle water. That means you can install it in some rooms where solid can't go, such as anything below-grade (like the basement) or even a half-bath or powder room. Avoid installing it in full baths, however, because these are known as the “wettest room in the house.”

It’s an investment

We say that because wood floors are timeless and never go out of style. They last for a long time, sometimes as much as 100 years, and only look better with age. They add value to a property, usually, 70% and up of the initial cost, and buyers will often pay more for a home with wood floors.

Our Hardwood Flooring Department offers many diverse styles, ranging from narrow 2 1/4″ strips to 5″ planks, in a choice of popular finishes and gloss levels. When choosing the style you like best, consider these basics color, species, board width, edge style, gloss level, board thickness, and warranty and see why Wood Floors are the natural, beautiful choice.
